Anne Kwasner at Windowsmiths Gallery
Anne Kwasner is a Sydney-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans drawing, printmaking, and ceramics. Since completing her Master's in Ceramics at the National Art School in 2019, she has transitioned from traditional works on paper to creating evocative sculptural pieces using upcycled plates and three-dimensional ceramic forms. Her art delves into themes of dislocation, diaspora, and the melancholy of displacement, often exploring how personal objects and images can serve as emotive repositories of both known and unknown histories.
Kwasner's work has been showcased in various exhibitions, including the 'More Than an Object' exhibition at Tiliqua Tiliqua Gallery. She has also participated in group exhibitions at Saywell Gallery and the Canterbury Bankstown Arts Centre, where her pieces continue to provoke thought and conversation.
In addition to her artistic practice, Kwasner is dedicated to arts education, teaching at institutions such as Art Est Art School and Sydney Community College. Her commitment to both creating and teaching art underscores her belief in the transformative power of artistic expression.
